PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT

Using the most technologically advanced equipment assists HomeGuard inspectors complete the most exhaustive inspection available.

  • Infrared Thermometer: laser thermometer with a range from -4 to 932 degrees F. This test equipment allows accurate temperature checks of the air conditioning system and other problem areas.

  • Non-evasive and evasive moisture testers: detects moisture beneath wood, plaster and brick with no probing. This instrument allows accurate detection of water penetration around doors and windows and for leaks in ceilings, walls and floors.

  • Carbon Monoxide Detector: to determine if dangerous levels of Carbon Monoxide are present in the home.

  • Gas Tracer: senses up to 132 gases, in concentrations as little as one PPM, depending on the specific gas. This instrument is used for the detection of any gas leaks at furnaces and water heaters.

  • All-Purpose Circuit Analyzer-this electrical outlet tester checks for lack of ground, reverse polarity and no neutral. This device also applies a resistance across the entire 120-volt line to determine voltage drop. Also tests gfi outlets, creating a 6-milliamp imbalance. Also identifies possible loose connections and possible problem outlets for safe use of computer systems and devices.

  • Tic Tracer: this equipment tests for the proper electrical grounding of light fixtures, ceiling fans, appliances and other electrical components.

  • Amp Meter: to identify electrical problems

  • Laser Level:  to precisely determine sloping or sagging of structure and flooring.

  • Microwave Leak Detector: checks the seal around the microwave door for hazardous leaks.

  • Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM): to determine unhealthy radon levels.
